New Audi TT Roadster opens up for Paris motor show

Audi has revealed the second member of its new TT family, six months after the Coupe was first shown. The automobile made its debut at the Paris motor Show and the Audi TT Roadster will be available to purchase from mid November (the TTS from early 2015) with first deliveries in spring 2015. The Roadster features a fully automatic fabric hood and will carry a premium of around £2,200 over the equivalent Coupe. As specification for sport and S line versions of the Roadster will mirror the Coupe, expect prices to start from £31,970 for the 182bhp 2.0 TDI Sport.

Other engine options will include a 227bhp 2.0 TFSI and a 306bhp TTS, both available with a six-speed manual as conventional or an optional six-speed duel-clutch S Tronic gearbox for £1,370 extra. Quattro four-wheel drive is optional on the 2.0 TFSI model and conventional on the TTS Roadster.
Standard kit on sport models includes Audi’s swish new 12.3-inch virtual cockpit screen in place of a conventional instrument cluster, sat-nav, adaptive dampers and 18-inch wheels. S line models gains an inch bigger wheels, full LED headlights and a 10mm drop in ride height. The Roadster isn’t the final member of the TT family either. Besides a burning five-cylinder TT-RS, which is deep into development, Audi has revealed the four-door TT Sportback concept automobile and is reported to be toying with the idea of a TT-SUV. We’ve already seen what a jacked-up TT looks like with the Allroad shooting Brake concept shown at the Detroit show earlier this year.
