more than half of young drivers feel bullied on the road by older, more experienced drivers, according to a report by Co-op Insurance.
The research, declared to be the most in-depth of its kind, discovered that of the 24,000 17-25 year olds surveyed, a quarter stated they were made to feel hazardous because of other drivers’ actions, with a third being put under unnecessary pressure on a regular basis.

Four out of five young drivers with a telematics ‘black box’ insurance coverage policy have been tailgated, as well as almost three quarters have been overtaken when it wasn’t risk-free to do so. almost half have been on the getting end of rude hand gestures.

Despite young drivers having a bad reputation, Co-op’s report discovered a huge 94 per cent explain themselves as great drivers, with 58 per cent stating they don’t speed, as well as 38 per cent never having been included in a crash. That’s backed up by data showing that while 68 per cent of drivers between 17 as well as 24 have been included in a collision, in 39 per cent of situations the young driver was not to be discovered at fault.
As part of the report, a further 4,000 motorists over the age of 26 were surveyed.
